for early childhood

Children deserve to be aware of the impact that food has on their developing bodies, plus how food and movement in their childhood impacts their adult health outcomes.

Early Years Menu. Training. Consultancy.

The best way to help to shape the health of the next generation is via education. Education enables empowerment. Food doesn't just fill us up, it shapes our every movement, action and emotion.

Understanding this (at a basic level) is the key to being as in control as you can be of your own health journey!

Menu Services

I support early years settings with menu development.  Your menu is one of the most important documents in your setting.  Parents can base their nursery choice on the menu alone and a strong nutritional message can give Nurseries/Childminders a competitive advantage. The most important factor about your menu is that the foods consumed in early childhood lay down biological foundations such as brain development and shape future habits.  Let's ensure your menu is fully supporting the health of the next generation.

Training Services

Having a brilliant menu is great but it's no use if the underpinning message and understanding of WHY it is great isn't widely understood or communicated. I offer bespoke training to the early years sector to ensure that everyone who is feeding a child is aware of the impact of food in early childhood development.

Training can include a variety of subjects linking food to different aspects of early development and can be done in-house or online to suit your needs and budget.  Once we understand the real link food has we are much more able to implement the menu effectively.

Policy Writing

Safeguarding children is of course a key factor in the early years sector but I ensure that your food and nutrition policies not only protect children but you and your staff too. Having robust policies ensures that you are meeting the (soon to be enhanced) requirements of the EYFS and offers peace of mind for parents, staff and children.

Take a look at some more information on the role food plays in early childhood development in my free eBook.  This is a fraction of the influence food has in terms of brain, skeleton development and influence on future health but it should give you a 'taste'
