Training & Content provision

Having a well-balanced menu which supports early childhood development is great, but what’s also needed is training to ensure that staff, parents and children all understand the reasons behind menu changes and the vital link between food and health, especially in the early years.

How I support with early years Training

  • Linking every food to early childhood development – the reason why

  • Keeping up with the EYFS

  • The importance of role-modelling with food

  • Staff training on nutrition for childhood development

  • Parent engagement to underpin menu changes and raise awareness

  • Specific training on subjects such as:

    • Nutrition and brain development

    • Epigenetics

    • Weaning

    • Exclusion diets (such as vegan diets in the very young)

    • Nutrition and Oral Health

    • Understanding allergens and nutritionally balanced alternatives

    • The impact of sugar – why we remove pudding

    • Ultra Processed Foods

    • Ultra Processed Foods and the impact on speech & language

    • Nutritional awareness for SEN children

Training Services & Educational Content Provision?

Training in the workplace can be tailored to suit your organisational needs but usually is in the form of a webinar which can be shared or face to face attendance at a staff day or team meeting.

Alongside supporting Early Years settings with training, I also provide educational content for the sector via a range of short courses, guides, webinars, conference speaking and Apprenticeships.

My reviews

“Louise has brought to my attention how big a part Childbase Partnership can play in lifetime eating behaviours and our focus on our ‘food experience’ has changed from ensuring our menus are nutritionally balanced to ensuring our food offers developmental benefits to our children, both physically and mentally. Louise has given a greater focus on the educational aspect of menu development and has developed training materials delivering this messaging to our colleagues, and their families.
